Rainbow: Open Hearts, All Faiths 🌈
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is an all inclusive organization. While our teachings are rooted in Christian scripture, we welcome young women from all faiths who believe in a Supreme Being. We encourage every girl to be active in the church or house of worship of her choice, and you will never be pressured to change your beliefs.
Our lessons use Christian values as a guide to show basic principles like love, respect, and kindness—values that are found in many religions around the world.
The Rainbow Ritual: A Guide for Life
The Ritual is our book of ceremonies, used for meetings and initiations. But it’s so much more than that! It’s a powerful tool that prepares you for real-world challenges.
By learning and performing your parts, you’ll master:
- Public Speaking: Find your voice and confidence in front of a group.
- Leadership: Learn how to run a meeting with purpose and poise.
- Professional Etiquette: The flow of our meetings—from “old business” to “new business” and “good of the order”—is a direct guide for how professional business meetings are run around the globe.
- Attention to Detail: The floor work that accompanies our words helps you master discipline and precision.
Sometimes we even hold friendly competitions for Ritual and floor work. These challenges provide a fun way to motivate and celebrate your hard work in a supportive environment.
Our International Home
Since 1951, the world headquarters for the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls has been located in McAlester, Oklahoma. This magnificent building was constructed for and funded by Rainbow Girls, showing what can be accomplished when we are empowered with knowledge, enlightened by travel, and energized by our own inner spirit.
