Discover Your Sparkle: The Rainbow Pledge Program! ✨
The Rainbow Pledge Program is the perfect introduction to leadership, friendship, and service for young girls. It’s a vibrant, pre-formal organization affiliated with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG) and the Masonic Family.
Who Can Join?
This program is designed for “Little Sisters”—girls between the ages of 8 and 11 who want to pledge themselves to a life of Love and Service. It’s a fun, supportive way to get ready for the formal Rainbow Girls organization.
What Do Pledge Girls Do? 💖
The Pledge Program is built around making friends and making a difference! Our girls engage in activities designed to build confidence and develop essential social skills:
- Friendship Building: They develop lasting friendships through fun games, crafts, and social outings.
- Hands-On Service: Girls learn the joy of giving back by participating in meaningful community service projects throughout the year.
- Confidence & Skills: Meetings include short presentations and discussion that help them practice public speaking and basic leadership skills.
- Rainbow Integration: They are included in certain activities with the older Rainbow Girls, creating a supportive mentorship connection.
Meeting Logistics
Pledge Groups typically meet at least once per month.
- When: Meetings are usually held right before the local Assembly’s regular Rainbow Girls meeting.
- Meeting Format: The Pledges hold a short, open meeting (about 20 minutes) where they report on activities and vote on their next projects, which is fantastic for building confidence and public speaking!
- Parent Involvement: Parents are always welcome and encouraged to stay during the meetings.
Leadership and Structure
The Pledge Group is guided by dedicated mentors:
- The Pledge Mother: An older girl from the local Rainbow Assembly who leads the group.
- The Pledge Advisor: An adult supervisor who provides guidance and support.
- The Pledge Sister: The presiding officer of the group, often one of the oldest girls (around age 10), who helps lead the meetings.
