Rainbow Sister of the Year Award 2016-17

The Goal of this Award is intended to encourage and Reward the Newest Members of this Organization (who has been a member for less than three years) by nominating an “Older” Girl that has made a direct impact/impression on them. It is also intended to encourage the older Girls to befriend a younger girl by becoming a positive role model. The Grand Executive Committee will make the selection of the Rainbow Sister of the Year based on the Nominator’s essay.

Any Active Member of Rainbow who has been a member for less than three years may submit the name of another Active Rainbow member for the “Rainbow Sister of the Year Award”.

Submission requirements:

  • The Nominee must be another Rainbow Girl that has made a direct impact/impression on them. She does not have to be from the same Assembly, but must be an active member of Colorado Rainbow.
  • The Nominator (the Girl who is nominating another for Rainbow Sister of the Year) must submit a legibly hand-written essay of a suggested 500 to1000 words as to why this “Role Model” deserves to be selected using the following criteria:
    • Include your name, Assembly number, address and phone number.
    • Include the name and Assembly number of your Nominee.
    • Provide examples as to why the nominee has impressed you so much.
    • Explain what Characteristics /Attitudes she has that you would like to mirror.
    • Explain how her dress/appearance represents what you believe a Rainbow Girl should be.
    • Explain how she represents the teachings of Rainbow.
    • Explain what you like about her interaction with the Girls and Adults and what Communication skills you have learned from her.
    • Explain what impresses you about her presentation of her memory work.
    • State the number of Regular Meetings, Official Visits, “Special Events” and “Outings” you have attended together during the past year. (You may estimate if the exact number is not available to you.)
    • Submit your essay to: Mike Jones, 117 Falcon Cr., Mead, Colorado 80542. Essay must be received no later than April 1, 2017.

    • Will be seated in the East for one of the Sessions at Grand Assembly.
    • Will be seated at the GWA table during the Friday night banquet.
    • Will be presented with a framed picture of the nominator and nominee.
    • Her essay will be printed in a Covenant after Grand Assembly.

The Mother Adviser and/or the Advisory Board will be asked to provide the following documentation upon the Grand Executive Committee’s receipt of a Nomination letter:

  • A statement supporting the Nominee as a role model, as well as attendance records for the Nominee at Assembly meetings and Special Events.
